About Roger

Roger enlisted in the US Army Air Forces during WWII and was assigned to the 833rd Engineer Company to build runways and bunkers in England. He used his military construction background to become a construction missionary in British Colonial Kenya during the 1950’s and 60’s.
Roger was an explorer, a preacher, the Commander of Brown Military Academy of the Ozarks, a sailor in the Merchant Marine, a CIA observer in East Africa during the cold war, an Educational Supervisor for the British in Kenya, a guest lecturer on communism in East Africa, and an author. In addition, he learned bushcraft from the Maasai, how to stay alive in the bush, how to track, and the animal’s habits and territories.
“I have attempted in this book to carry you back with me in time so that you too can vicariously walk with me through the most drama filled period of my life. Many of these memories I would prefer to shut the door on because of the pain, fear, and frustration, however, I am holding the door open for you. These stories are compelling drama, suspense, political explosions, and human interest, with death not far away.”
Roger passed away on August 2nd in 2007.
